  1. I wish I knew about camera and technique here. Except for the sharpness it reminds me of my old Kodak BW Infrared film shots with the very dark sky. I’d shoot through a #29 dark red filter. You could only handle the film canister in total darkness, so changing rolls on the run was impossible without a changing bag. Lightroom has an infrared preset effect, but it’s not quite the same, of course.

    • I did this black-and-white conversion in Photoshop Elements and, yes, I did use the infrared setting. The shot is actually quite nice in color (the structure was red and white against a vivid blue sky and golden-hour light) but, when all was said and done, the drama of the light wood against the black sky won out. :-)
