IMG_20140510_0005It wasn’t too long ago that I posted a photo of the abandoned gas station that was once at the heart of Desert Center, a near-ghost town located roughly halfway between Palm Springs and the California/Arizona border. Here’s a wider view…this one taken with my Polaroid Colorpack II camera and Fujifilm FP 100-C peel-apart instant color film.

  1. There is a brittle optimism about this that I find intriguing. Cafe carries such a warm, lively connotation and yet here there is an aura of sadness and loss. Such engaging images, Caryn. Have you exhibited your work in a gallery? If you haven’t, you should. I’d buy (as you know…) ;-)

    • Lori, Thanks so much for your encouragement. It really does mean a lot to me. I’ve only ever shared my photos online, never in the “real world”. As for the photo, I’m glad you like it. I hesitated to post this last batch of Polaroids but decided to if for no other reason than this blog is a place to document my experiments and my little foray into peel-apart film is just that!
