interior.jpgA peek inside one of the abandoned cabins featured in yesterday’s post. Built in 1921 to accommodate motorists traversing what is today still a desolate stretch of desert, it’s clear they’ve been personal residences in the years since then and in the not too distant past. Among the things left behind: food, furniture, appliances, a rather alarming amount of financial paperwork, and even some children’s books. A visit to an abandoned place such as this raises more questions than it answers and always leaves me longing for a time machine.
