Another shot from down in the desert…this one taken earlier today at the historic and spectacularly beautiful Sunnylands estate in Rancho Mirage. Once the home of the late philanthropic power couple Walter and Leonore Annenberg, the 200-acre property has served as a retreat and meeting place for seven U.S. presidents, the British royal family, and many other national and international leaders. Indeed, President Barack Obama and King Abdullah II of Jordan were guests there just last month. Today, however, it was the public that got to enjoy the beautiful grounds as well as a concert by a group of Idyllwild musicians who drove down for the occasion. It was a lovely day but a little rushed. I’m looking forward to visiting again when I have more time to explore and meander.
