birdjosh2bYesterday afternoon at Red Hill Marina, a remote spot along the southern shore of the already-remote Salton Sea. Located in the desert about 45 miles east of Palm Springs, the Salton Sea supports one of the largest and most diverse bird populations in the world. Unfortunately, this critical stopover along the Pacific Flyway for migratory and wintering shorebirds, landbirds, and waterfowl, faces several environmental threats and almost certain ecological collapse.
